formed in 1999. They are known for fast guitar solos, fantasy-based lyrics, and electronic sounds in their music to add to their retro video game-influenced sound.

The current line-up ZP Theart (vocals), Dave Mackintosh (drums), Frédéric Leclercq (bass), Vadim Pruzhanov (keyboards) and super-fast widdly-widdly axemen Herman Li and Sam Totman.

A testament to the power of the internet, DragonForce first published their music on MP3.com, establishing a fanbase before they had released any physical albums. Since then they have released three albums Valley of the Damned (2003, due for re-release soon), Sonic Firestorm (2004) and Inhuman Rampage (2006 , re-released 2007). Most recently their track "Through the Fire and Flames" has appeared on the game Guitar Hero III as a bonus song
